Of course, there are some excellent (and luxurious!) ski resort hotels but after an exhilarating day on the slopes, you can’t beat returning to your chalet’s roaring fire and afternoon tea.

You might take a dip in the hot tub to ease any aching limbs before enjoying a convivial evening starting with canapés and a glass of fizz and then a four course meal, finished off with coffee by the fire.

But what if you don’t have a group large enough to fill a whole chalet?
