Family Fun in the Three Valleys

If you are heading out to Méribel over the Easter holidays you will no doubt be looking forward to enjoying the best late season conditions for years!

Snow conditions in resort are currently superb, and there is plenty of snow to last through until the end of the season.

If you are looking for some fun things to do whilst out in Méribel, here is our round up of the best areas to head for in the Three Valleys for fun with the family:

Black Mission Forest Toboggan Run, Méribel

Méribel’s very own toboggan run opened last year and is a popular addition to the resort’s activities. Accessed via the Tougnete gondola, it is a thrilling 3km run with a 470m vertical descent, around 28 corners.

Elements Snow Park, Méribel

Accessed via the Plan de L’Homme chairlift and the Arpasson draglift, the Elements Snow Park is a fun introduction to the park for beginner and intermediate skiers and snowboarders. A great place for families to come and enjoy the Boardercross, whoops, Fun Cross and to try some tricks on the soft impact boxes, rails and jibs.

Yeti Park, Méribel Mottaret

For younger skiers, the Yeti Park offers lots of fun both on and off skis. Found in Mottaret, the Yeti Park has a gentle Green Run, which offers little ones the perfect opportunity to practice their turns whilst enjoying lots of fun features throughout the park such as gongs and trumpets, as well as igloos and tunnels to explore.

The Inuits Piste, Méribel Altiport

If your children need a break from skiing, head over to the Inuits Piste, which can be accessed via the Saulire 1 Express or the Altiport chairlift. With deckchairs to relax on and swings for the children, there are also organised games and activities every Sunday to Friday from 2pm.

Le Coeur Equestre des 3 Vallées, Méribel Centre

If you’d like to try something a little different why not visit Le Coeur Equestre des 3 Vallees, which is situated next to the Truite piste as you are coming in to the Chaudanne. Here, you can go for a pony ride or trek, or even try Ski-Joëring – skiing behind horses! Younger children can enjoy a ride around the arena being pulled on a sledge by a pony! Booking essential.

Luge XXL, Courchevel Moriond

If you find yourself skiing over in Courchevel 1650, why not try the brand new toboggan run, the ‘Luge XXL’? Accessed from the top of the new Arondiaz Gondola, the run covers 3km over a 450m vertical descent down into the centre of Courchevel Moriond. With hairpin bends and eight tunnels, this is an excellent opportunity to put your toboggan driving to the test!

Le Toboggan, Val Thorens

Once you have mastered your sledging skills in Méribel and Courchevel, head over to Val Thorens, where you will find Europe’s longest toboggan run! Starting at the top of the Peclet Funitel at a dizzying altitude of 3000m, the toboggan ride is a massive 6km, meaning a whole 45 minutes (at least!) of sledging fun.

The Tyrolienne

While you are in Val Thorens, try The Tyrolienne zip wire for the ultimate adrenaline rush. From the top of the Bouchet chairlift in Orelle at 3,230m, you will travel 1,300m at speeds of up to 105kph, at up to 250m above the mountains to the top of the Thorens Funitel at 3000m. A truly exhilarating ride!
