Dry January? Not here at Meriski!

In particular, we are enjoying the new additions to our Chalets this season – Chase Vodka and Williams Gin. Chase Distillery is the UK’s first and only single estate distillery. Founded by William Chase and family in 2008, each bottle is grown, mashed, fermented, distilled and bottled by hand on the family farm in Herefordshire.

Originally a potato farmer, William branched out to making crisps and founded Tyrrell’s in 2002 before deciding that making Vodka would be more fun! After four years of careful research and sourcing of materials (including a bespoke 70ft rectifying column!), their first batch of Vodka was made in June 2008. Another seven years later and they have a mouthwatering range of multi award winning Vodka and Gin, including Chase Vodka, Chase Marmalade Vodka and Williams Chase Elegant Gin – all available to buy directly from the Williams Chase website as well as select retail outlets.

If you are ever in the Herefordshire area, tours of the Distillery are available on Fridays where you will be expertly guided through the whole field to bottle process, culminating in a tutored tasting of the finished products. When a whole Meriski chalet is booked this season, samples of Chase’s products will be available in the chalet, with the opportunity to purchase further products in resort.
