The lowdown
Raffl’s St. Antoner Hof is one of the gems of the Austrian village, an historic family-run destination with an unforgettably quirky atmosphere. Despite having a grand tradition as one of the oldest hotels in the historical birthplace of skiing, the 5* property is anything but conventional. With off-beat decor and unique design concepts throughout, it’s a refreshing break from traditional chalet style, while still brimming with luxury. The spa, naturally, is magnificent: there’s an indoor pool, Finnish sauna, Turkish steam bath and an extensive range of massages. Part of the Raffl family trio of hotels in St Anton, you’ll have access to three creative restaurants – including a Baroque-style sushi destination and playful adaptation of raclette and fondue.
- Enjoy the hotel’s weekly entertainment programme, with everything from traditional Austrian evenings to a torch-lit snowshoe hike through the forest.
- Located close to the centre of St. Anton am Arlberg, about a 5-minute walk from the shops and a 10-minute walk to the ski lifts.
- Stunning spa with fitness area, indoor pool and various alternative saunas and steam baths
Decor
Cosy meets extravagant, and unique period furniture meets cutting-edge design. Throughout the building, you’ll find unique artwork and interesting touches. Leather, wood, and a touch of metallic rust belong in every room, alongside roaring glass-fronted fireplaces and funky colour combinations.
Rooms and Suites
No two bedrooms are the same at St. Antoner Hof Hotel. There are comfortable doubles, junior suites and split level grand suite maisonettes with its rustic wooden floors, open fireplaces and freestanding baths. All the suites have separate living rooms and impressive walk-in shower rooms.
Double room:
Spacious double room with en-suite bathroom, TV with DVD player, wireless internet, minibar, safe, bathrobes and slippers.
Junior Suite:
A large double room complete with tiled wood burning stove providing a cosy living area. Integral additional bed for third person.
Suite:
The suites are a blend of traditional wood and contemporary art and have a separate living and sleeping area with an open fireplace. Separate bathroom with shower. TV with DVD player and wireless internet.
Grand Suite:
The Grand Suite includes two double bedrooms with en suite bathrooms, one WC, living room with fireplace, TV in all rooms with DVD player in the living room and wifi. It has a combination of modern furniture contrasted with rustic floors. If required, an additional bed can be set up in the living room.
Grand Suite ‘Maisonette’:
A large four-bedroom suite split over two levels. It consists of two double bedrooms with en suite, two WCs, oven, TV and DVD in every room, wifi. It has original wooden floors and modern bathroom design by Philippe Starck. A fifth person can be accommodated in the cosy bed in the living room.
Après ski and dining
The trio of Raffl’s hotels offer three dining options within the village of St Anton, all a short walk from one another, and naturally none of them stick to the status quo. There’s a baroque-style sushi restaurant called Seven Sky, avant garde fine dining at Raffl’s Eat Art, and a wildly creative tack on raclette and fondue at Sticky Fingers. Buckle up and enjoy. Oh, there’s also an old school Churchill Bar full of leather armchairs and whisky bottles, and a private venue for parties and events.
Spa and Wellness
The hotel’s interiors may be quirky and playful, but they don’t mess about when it comes to relaxation. There’s an indoor swimming pool, a Finnish sauna, Turkish steam bath, fully-equipt gym and massages available to ease those aching limbs – treatments range from ayurvedic to sports massages to reflexology.
