Les Grandes Alpes was the first ever hotel in Courchevel 1850, and opened its doors simultaneously with the resort’s first ever ski lift in 1948. Nowadays, this stunning 5* destination is really more of a cluster of private apartments than a typical hotel. It is grand in every sense of the word, and offers the very best of both chalet and hotel experience. Nine exceptional private lodges each have three to four bedrooms, with spacious living rooms complete with cosy fireplace and a semi-professional kitchen. These can be broken down into individual rooms for smaller groups, or shared between families and groups of friends. The spa facilities and indoor pool are second to none, and guests are offered their own private butler, housekeeper and optional private chef.

Après ski and dining
Bellini Lounge Bar offers tea-time pastries, hot chocolates and crepes, as well as a jaw-dropping range of vintage Champagnes served in the finest crystal. In December 2020, two Michelin starred chef Sylvester Wahid launched a new restaurant within Grandes Alpes hotel, bringing elevated French gastronomy to the mountains in the most intimate of settings. Famous highlights from the 15 course tasting menu include Tourteau du port de Roscoff and his lemon and seaweed dessert. There is a hall seating for just 8 to 20 guests, with an open kitchen or a chef’s table, meaning the experience can be uniquely yours. Sylvestre Wahid has also created a luxury sushi bar, and private dining options for hotel’s apartments and suites.
Spa and Wellness
The fantastic Bellefontaine Spa once again offers the best hotel-esque experience imaginable for guests staying in the suites and apartments. After touring the mountains, enjoy the heated indoor pool, sauna and hammam, or treat yourself to a new hairdo in the salon before an evening out in Courchevel village.
