Il Piccolo Fienile

Just brimming with the bucolic charm of its unspoilt hillside setting, this beguilingly simple little villa comes with a superb swimming pool. Set below the house in its tiered garden, with fantastic views over rolling hills and local villages, the generously sized infinity pool is an unrivalled focal point. With a Jacuzzi corner, sun-loungers on the paved surround and an outdoor shower, it’s the perfect place to wind-down to the rural Tuscan tempo, especially as there is a portable barbecue for lunches in the leafy pergola on the poolside lawn. Beside the house, a brick-paved patio provides another shady spot for al fresco meals, complementing the villa’s country kitchen/diner, where colour-washed walls, checked fabrics and blue painted chairs are juxtaposed with a microwave, dishwasher and American fridge/freezer.
Stairs lead up from here to a mezzanine level under the roof rafters, where a cosy sitting room has a couple of sofas, a fireplace and TV; and there are two bedrooms at ground level, each with its own shower room. With its obliging owner living on site in a separate villa, Il Piccolo Fienile is just 4km from the train station in Montelupo, which is then only a 15 minute ride into the centre of Florence.

The owners live unobtrusively next door, and their house is approximately 30 metres from Il Piccolo Fienile. There is a tourism tax of Euro 1 per person payable locally.
