Located in the stunning Tarentaise Valley, Val Thorens is right in the action of the Three Valleys, the largest ski area in the world. Val Thorens itself has 150km of pistes, with the rest of the Three Valleys covering more than 600km. Although ideal for intermediate to advanced skiers, there are also a number of green and blue runs for beginners to find their mountain legs. Val Thorens is also about much more than skiing: get an adrenaline rush on the longest toboggan run in Europe, which spans a whopping 6km, have a go at ice driving, or indulge in some fine dining at the Michelin-starred Le Diamant Noir. Not to mention of course, Val Thorens’ serious reputation for partying: in this French ski resort, you’ll find both the largest dance floor and the highest pub in the Alps.

Other than hitting the Three Valleys, visitors to Val Thorens will find some of the best facilities in the Alps when it comes to having a good time. First of all, the party scene: the nightlife in Val Thorens is young and vibrant, thanks in part to the existence of places like The Frog and Roast Beef (the highest pub in the Alps) and Le Malaysia nightclub, which has an enormous 700 square meter dance floor open til 4am. There’s also a 6 meter long toboggan run, which takes around 45 minutes of non-stop sledging to complete, and ice driving, glacier walking, husky sledding and more for all to enjoy.
