The lowdown

Chalet Le Chardon pulls out all the stops when it comes to an unforgettable stay in the French resort of Val d’Isère: highlights include a stunning private pool and spa, an ice bar carved into the snow, and barbecues on the terrace as you get towards spring. The chalet forms part of an exclusive collection of Le Chardon Mountain Lodges, with a private chef to whip up Champagne and canapés, afternoon tea and five course banquets for guests. After a day exploring the Espace Killy ski area, relax in one of the two private hot tubs, or treat yourself to a full body massage in the chalet’s special wellness area.

Decor

Le Chardon is an ideal location for big groups, with two separate living areas, a large TV room and study to spread out in. There are wide-stretching windows from floor to ceiling, exposed beams and stone walls adding Alpine charm to the luxurious space. The dining room is adorned with silver candelabras, sheepskin and Scottish tartan – an elegant space fitting for the stunning dinners prepared each evening by our chef. Each of the chalet’s 10 en-suite bedrooms has floor to ceiling windows offering uninterrupted views up the Manchet Valley and Vanoise National Park.

Rooms and Suites

Each of the ten room can be made up as twins or doubles, to give your group complete flexibility. The bedrooms are spread across the four floors of the chalet, giving your group ample space to spread out.

Dornoch

Lovely double or twin bedroom with a beautiful tiled floor and en-suite shower room. Direct access through patio doors to the sun terrace, swim spa and hot tubs with stunning uninterrupted views.

Dunvegan

A fantastic spacious bedroom reached by its own private staircase, perfect as either king size double or twin. En-suite shower room, private balcony and breath taking views up the Manchet Valley.

Ardgay

A large master bedroom with either king size double or twin beds, en-suite bathroom with a bath, separate shower and twin sinks. Direct access onto the main balcony via large glass sliding doors giving stunning views.

Brodick and Brora

Cosy rooms ideal as king size doubles or twins. Both have en-suite shower rooms finished off with Italian marble and have direct access onto the main balcony giving fantastic views.

Cawdor

A spacious double or twin bedroom, beautiful en-suite bathroom with bath and shower, direct access onto the main balcony with stunning views and hot tub.

Edzell

Lovely master bedroom ideal as a king size double or twin, a large en-suite bathroom with a bath and separate shower, direct access via large glass doors onto one of the balconies with fantastic views.

Moniak

Beautiful king size double or twin bedroom, en-suite bathroom with bath and shower finished with Italian marble, direct access onto a balcony with views out over the Manchet Valley.

Oykel and Uist

Newly renovated, these top floor bedrooms and second living area have been transformed into two spacious king size bedrooms with uninterrupted views across the Manchet Valley.

Location

At an altitude of 1,850 metres above sea level, Val D’Isere has one of the best snowfalls in the Alps, and is considered to be one of the world’s best ski resorts. Val D’Isere forms part of the ‘Espace Killy’ ski area, along with Tignes, together combining to have over 300km of pistes and 90 lifts. Le Chardon is just meters from the piste, and a two minute drive into the center of the village. 

Après ski and dining

Guests will enjoy dedicated 5* service from chalet staff and a private chef throughout their stay, with a pre-arrival menu consultation to suit all dietary requirements and desires. Breakfast and homemade afternoon tea will be laid on daily, fuelling you for an adventurous day on the slopes and reviving you when you get home. Five nights a week, guests will enjoy indulgent Champagne and canapés, followed by a stunning five course dinner paired with carefully selected house wines. Wines, spirits and soft drinks are there to be enjoyed at the open bar, and when the weather is right you can enjoy the outside ice bar carved into the snow. 

Children

Children’s meals can be cooked separately for those opting for the fully catered option, leaving adults to relax and enjoy the evening. There are books, games, toys, sledges available for children.

The highlight of the spa area is a private, heated 18-foot pool, perfect for splashing around and unwinding. Le Chardon has not one but two hot tubs, as well as a sauna and two private massage booths with access to a spa therapist at your request. Guests can also indulge in little extras within the chalet, including luxury bathroom products from REN Clean Skincare. Hairdryers, fluffy bathrobes and slippers are also provided.
