Val d’Isère Info

The French Alpine town of Val d’Isère is renowned as Europe’s most popular ski destination – a gateway to the Three Valleys with over 145km of slopes to let loose on. Together with the neighbouring resort of Tignes, the world-famous ‘Espace Killy’ ski area is served by over 90 ski-lifts which connect you to more than 300km of pistes to suit all levels.

The resort sits at 1800m, meaning it has one of the longest winter seasons in the Alps, and a remarkable quality of snow throughout. What’s more, the Val d’Isère glacier opens in June each year on Pisaillas for summer skiers. Val D’Isere is also known for the legendary Snowpark, where skiers and snowboarders can enjoy jumps, boardercrosses and rails to their heart’s content.

In the village of Val d’Isère itself, luxury chalets and hotels offer excellent service and fantastic facilities. From private chefs to indoor swimming pools, cosy ski-in-ski-out apartments to lavish 24-person chalets, we’ve handpicked the best of the lot for your winter get-away. On top of this, the town center has a wide range of restaurants, shops, apres-ski bars and spa facilities.

Non-skiing activities

Val D’Isere is one of the best Alpine resorts for non-skiers, packed with activities for days when you don’t fancy being on the mountain. There’s a recreation center in the heart of Val d’Isere with an aquapark, spa, climbing walls, golf simulator, TRX, massages and much much more. Aside from skiing, winter sports include ice skating, helicopter rides, sledging, ice driving, hiking, snowshoeing and much more. In August, Tignes – Val d’Isere e-bike festival is a sporting highlight, with the International Film Festival ‘Aventure & Découverte’ in April.
